ÝSTANBUL-Investments continue to solve transportation problems the Metropolitian City of Ýstanbul. Funicular railway system, decreasing only 110 seconds between Taksim and Kabataþ, has been in service on 29 June, 2006 by joning in Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdoðan and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbas.

Taksim-Kabataþ Funicular railway system was one of projects of 116 solutions for Ýstanbul Traffics announced by Municipality Of Istanbul. At the same time,Ticket entegration has been started on 1 June . Taksim-Kabataþ Funicular railway system joins the Taksim-4 Levent Metro line and sea & tramway rail system transportations has been opened by The Prime Minister on 29 June 2006.
Taksim Kabataþ is second funicular railway system is in Ýstanbul after than Galata(Karaköy) and Pera(Beyoðlu) Metro which is the most historical second metro of the world. Galata Metro is 131 st years old. Municipality have spent 31 milyon dolars for the funicular railway system. It has two vagons carriying 375 passengers each one. It also works oppisite ropes pulling each other.Tunnel has 544 metres lenght and is carried 7.500 passengers/hour in one direction.
The system establising value-added transport entegration in Ýstanbul gives great advantages to passenger who use Taksim-4 Levent Metro; one is they can use Taksim-Kabataþ Funicular Railway , Seabuses and Kabataþ Tramway without exiting outside station or vice versa. Other is they can also go the Atatürk Airport and National City Coaches Station.
